Recruit

Progression to Junior Flight Officer requires successful completion of a flight assessment, evaluating fundamental airmanship, communication, and tactical understanding.

The Junior Flying Officer rank represents pilots who have completed initial screening and are progressing through formal training within the Chernarus Defense Force.

Progression to Flight Officer requires successful completion of either the L-39C training course (fixed-wing track) or a Mi-8/Mi-24P Co-Pilot/Gunner assessment (rotary track), demonstrating readiness for frontline operational roles.

Progression to Chief Warrant Officer is reserved for individuals who demonstrate sustained excellence in instruction, leadership within the training pipeline, and a significant contribution to doctrine development and standardization across the CDF.

Chief Warrant Officers serve as senior authorities within GNAFU (Gudauta National Air Force University) and operational brigades, overseeing training pipelines, standardization, and tactical development. They play a critical role in mentoring instructors, validating procedures, and ensuring the effectiveness of CDF combat operations.
This rank is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional proficiency, leadership in instruction, and long-term contributions to the development of pilots and tactics within the CDF.

Flying Officers who demonstrate strong commitment and performance may be directly selected for promotion to Junior Lieutenant, entering the officer track based on merit.

Progression to Captain is based on merit, recommendation from unit leadership, and attainment of instructor qualifications.

Ranks above Captain are considered Staff Ranks. Progression beyond this level carries increased responsibility within the Defense Force and is reserved for those serving in instructional and leadership positions, including individuals qualified as mission commanders.
Progression beyond Captain is based on merit, leadership impact, and continued contribution to the CDF.
